Aug 19, 2018 – Home again
Crows are amazing. This morning we watched while one crow picked up a clam and smashed it into a rock, check if it was open, and pick it up to smash it into the rock again. She did this until it opened up so she could eat it, and then gave the leftovers to what I assume is her baby.
The Donna-fast today was a breakfast burrito – not my first choice for breakfast food, but still delicious! No sea lions playing in Sechelt Inlet (they were out the last two mornings). The smoke from the fires was very apparent today and you could smell it in the air. Not good for BC. We packed it in, checked out and made it in time for the 11:55 ferry, although we were close to dead last, and we ended up in an aisle behind a fat-ass truck towing some extra large kayaks and as a result were the last ones allowed to leave in Horseshoe Bay. I’m not complaining, but it’s entirely possible we made it home at approximately the same time as someone who was first off the 1:00 sailing. But regardless, we are home sweet home and our relaxing weekend getaway was totally worth it!
Thanks for reading! Until next time.
