Aug 16, 2018 – Typical travel day
With no vacation planned this summer – one: Mitchell is home for one, and two: once he left for university we decided to forgo high-season travel (yay!) – Jeff booked a long weekend trip to the Sunshine Coast instead. Last time we did this we ended up at Half Moon Bay Secret Cove Resort which was hilariously disappointing, so this time I kept my expectations in check. Turns out it wasn’t necessary.
We had ferry reservations for 9 pm due to poor planning, but decided to aim for an earlier sailing in case we got lucky. And indeed we did, easily boarding at 7 pm which meant we would arrive at the Tuwanek Hotel and Spa well before dark. This was fortunate because, while the drive in was pretty straightforward, figuring out where the hotel actually was located would have been tricky in the dark.
As mentioned, there was no need to temper expectations, as we pulled up to this lovely place.
We sat on our balcony to watch the sunset and all was right with the world.
So funny – we’ve also experienced the disappointment of secret bay resort! But this place sounds awesome….and I have a recipe for Jeff….
